ABSTRACT Objective Traditional therapies for postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) and postherpetic itch (PHI) often yield unsatisfactory outcomes. Previous investigations on extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) have demonstrated positive outcomes in pain and itch reduction in conditions resembling PHI and PHN, exhibiting neuropathic mechanisms.
