Clinical evaluation of fluid extract of Chamomilla recutita for oral aphthae.

Recurrent aphthous stomatitis is a difficult to treat and quite common chronic inflammatory disease of the oral mucosa. This study evaluates the fluid extract from Chamomilla recutita's safety and effectiveness in pain relief from aphthous stomatitis and other painful ulcers of the oral mucous membrane.

We measured cadmium and lead content of dry chamomilla tea decoction, dry chamomilla extract, and standard solution without chamomilla using differential pulse anodic striping voltametry (DPASV). Dry chamomilla tea decoction showed strong chelating capacity for cadmium.
