Coding for a multiple-access channel

open access: yesInformation and Control, 1978
The channel considered here is a real-number adder. Attention is restricted to the case of two sources using binary signals; hence the channel has a ternary output. The paper treats both the noiseless and noisy situations. For the noiseless case the following results are obtained: several code-construction techniques are presented; a Gilbert-like lower

Joint Source and Channel Coding for MPEG-4 using Steganography of Channel Coding Information

open access: yesMajlesi Journal of Electrical Engineering
Progress of technology in recent decades causes that video transmission via communication channels has met high demands. Therefore, many methods have been proposed to improve the quality of video under channel errors. The aim of this paper is to increase

Sequential coding for channels with feedback

open access: yesInformation and Control, 1976
In this note we consider a discrete memoryless channel (DMC) where noiseless feedback is present. Shannon showed (Shannon, 1956) that the capacity of the DMC is not increased by feedback (in the case of block coding) by providing a weak converse. Later Kemperman and Kesten (unpublished) independently proved a strong converse.

MIMO Gaussian State-Dependent Channels with a State-Cognitive Helper

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
We consider the problem of channel coding over multiterminal state-dependent channels in which neither transmitters nor receivers but only a helper node has a non-causal knowledge of the state.

Design of adaptive constellations and error protection coding for wireless network coding in 5-node butterfly networks

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2017
In this paper, we focus on the design of a reliable communication scheme for generic 5-node wireless butterfly networks (WBN). Since the WBN represents a natural extension of the basic two-way relay communication channel, we follow the paradigm of ...

Error exponent for TAS/MRC fading channel

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2016
Using Meijer-G function, exact expression for the random coding error exponent, ergodic capacity, cutoff rate, expurgated exponent of TAS/MRC Nakagami-m fading channel were derived.Numerical results show that the random coding error exponent is related to ...

On Channel Estimation for Analog Network Coding in a Frequency-Selective Fading Channel

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2011
Recently, broadband analog network coding (ANC) was introduced for high-speed transmission over the wireless (frequency-selective fading) channel. However, ANC requires the knowledge of channel state information (CSI) for self-information removal and ...

H.264 rate-distortion model based joint source channel coding scheme over wireless channels

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2008
A new rate-distortion model of H.264 encoder was firstly set up according to the rate distortion(R-D) charac-teristics of H.264.Then,the end-to-end video transmission distortion was analyzed and based on the R-D model of the H.264 encoder and the error ...
