Chaotic maps in hyperspaces

open access: yesReal Analysis Exchange, 1995
Suppose \(X\) to be a compact metric space, \(w_1, w_2, \dots , w_m\) invertible contractive selfmaps. The iterated function system \((X;w_1,w_2,\dots ,w_m)\) satisfies the open set condition, if \(X\) is an attractor of the system \((X,w_1,w_2,\dots ,w_m)\) and there is a nonvoid open \(O\subseteq X\) such that \(w_i[O]\cap w_j[O]=\emptyset\) for \(i ...

A New Keyed Hash Function Based on Compounded Chaotic Maps

open access: yesIEEE Access
In this paper, we firstly construct a new chaotic map by compounding a couple of chaotic maps and, using specific mathematical tools (i.e., Lyapunov exponent), we prove its sensitivity to the initial conditions and the underlying chaotic behavior ...

A New 1D Chaotic Map and $\beta$ -Hill Climbing for Generating Substitution-Boxes

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
One-dimensional (1-D) chaotic maps have been considered as prominent pseudo-random source for the design of different cryptographic primitives. They have the advantages of simplicity, easy to implement, and low computation.

Image Encryption Scheme Based on Newly Designed Chaotic Map and Parallel DNA Coding

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
In this paper, a new one-dimensional fractional chaotic map is proposed and an image encryption scheme based on parallel DNA coding is designed by using the chaotic map.

Stabilization of Miscible Aqueous Phases via Diffusion‐Controlled Multifunctional Nanoparticle‐Ligand Complexation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a versatile approach to harnessing miscible aqueous domains, enabling liquid‐in‐liquid compartmentalization using a barrier formed in situ rather than bulk immiscibility. The barrier forms upon the complexation of multifunctional nanoparticles and ligands at the contact boundary of aqueous phases.

An Image Encryption Algorithm Based on Multichaotic System and DNA Coding

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2020
In this paper, an improved two-dimensional logistic-sine coupling map (N2D-LSCM) and an improved Henon map (NHenon) are proposed. Furthermore, by combining N2D-LSCM and NHenon map, an image encryption algorithm is proposed based on these two chaotic ...

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Winding Numbers in Discrete Dynamics: From Circle Maps and Fractals to Chaotic Poincaré Sections

open access: yesModelling
Winding numbers are key indices in the depiction, modelling, and testing of dynamical processes. They capture phase progression on closed curves and are robust for quasiperiodic dynamics, but their status for chaotic Poincaré sections is unclear.

Identification of chaos in fractional chaotic map

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2020
This paper utilizes the 0–1 test algorithm to identify chaos in a fractional chaotic map. A fractional Burgers map is proposed by means of the Caputo-like delta difference operator. The bifurcation diagrams, phase trajectories and 0–1 test results of the
