Cascading CMOS-Based Chaotic Maps for Improved Performance and Its Application in Efficient RNG Design

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
We present a general framework for improving the chaotic properties of CMOS-based chaotic maps by cascading multiple maps in series. Along with two novel chaotic map topologies, we present the 45 $nm$ designs for four CMOS-based discrete-time chaotic ...

A Double-Layer Image Encryption Scheme Based on Chaotic Maps and DNA Strand Displacement

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2022
The image encryption schemes combining chaotic maps, DNA coding, and DNA sequence operation can effectively protect the image. In this paper, a double-layer image encryption scheme is proposed by combining chaotic maps with DNA strand displacement (DSD).

An investigation of the effects of chaotic maps on the performance of metaheuristics

open access: yesEngineering Reports, 2021
This article presents an empirical investigation of the effects of chaotic maps on the performance of metaheuristics. Particle Swarm Optimization and Simulated Annealing are modified to use chaotic maps instead of the traditional pseudorandom number ...

Random Delays and the Synchronization of Chaotic Maps [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2005
We investigate the dynamics of an array of logistic maps coupled with random delay times. We report that for adequate coupling strength the array is able to synchronize, in spite of the random delays. Specifically, we find that the synchronized state is a homogeneous steady-state, where the chaotic dynamics of the individual maps is suppressed.

Light-Weighted Password-Based Multi-Group Authenticated Key Agreement for Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Security is a critical issue for medical and health care systems. Password-based group-authenticated key agreement for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) allows a group of sensor nodes to negotiate a common session key by using password authentication and ...

ESTIMATING HYPERBOLICITY OF CHAOTIC BIDIMENSIONAL MAPS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2012
We apply to bidimensional chaotic maps the numerical method proposed by Ginelli et al. [2007] to approximate the associated Oseledets splitting, i.e. the set of linear subspaces spanned by the so-called covariant Lyapunov vectors (CLV) and corresponding to the Lyapunov spectrum.
