Evaluation of Heat Shock Protein 60 (HSP60) Chaperonin in Oncology

2019
Heat shock proteins (Hsp) are a group of chaperonin that are increased production at cellular level in cellular stress situations. These stress include such as heat, infection, inflammation, many toxins such as ethanol, arsenic, some metals, ultraviolet light, some oncogenes.

Is chaperonin 60 the extracellular target molecule for early pregnancy factor? [PDF]

open access: possible
Early pregnancy factor (EPF), first discovered in this laboratory, was described originally as a substance appearing in maternal serum within 24 h of fertilisation in all mammalian species tested. Studies have revealed that EPF is not only indicative of but also necessary for embryonic well-being.

Chaperonin 60: An Unexpected Cell Surface Receptor in Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes

2012
The chaperonin (Cpn)60 protein is a fascinating molecule which, under different circumstances, exists on the cell surface or is secreted from the cell. In all the various compartments in which the Cpn60 protein is found in organisms ranging from bacteria, to invertebrates to vertebrates it has evolved a wide range of additional, moonlighting, functions.
