Cytochemical and immunocytochemical studies of the localization of histones and protamine-type proteins in spermatids of Chara vulgaris and Chara tomentosa.

open access: yesFolia Histochemica et Cytobiologica, 2008
Spermiogenesis in Chara algae, which has been divided into 10 phases (sp I-X), is similar to spermiogenesis in animals. The most important process during spermiogenesis in animals is remodeling of chromatin leading to "sleeping genome", being the result ...

An N‐acetyltransferase‐MAPK fusion protein modulates developmental reprogramming in Physcomitrium patens

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 1, Page 321-339, July 2026.
Summary We discovered a previously uncharacterized moss‐specific protein, Rosetta NATD‐MAPK 1 (RAK1) in Physcomitrium patens, which uniquely integrates MAP kinase (MAPK)‐dependent signaling with N‐acetyltransferase activity. Through phenotypical and biochemical analyses, we characterized RAK1 function in the regulation of the 2D‐to‐3D growth transition.

Chara globularis – Chara connivens – Chara contraria: more insights from morphology and genetics

open access: yes, 2018
Most field charophytologists have experienced that the morphology of Chara specimen can be intermediate” between two different species. We collected a Chara sample in lake Sava, close to Belgrade, Serbia. The habitus of this specimen resembled C. contraria, but the microscopic details (“spines”, stipulodes) resembled C. virgata. Preliminary analysis of

Comparison of gastropod mollusc (Apogastropoda: Hydrobiidae) habitats in two crater lakes in Nicaragua

open access: yesRevista de Biología Tropical, 2008
The aquatic gastropod mollusc, Pyrgophorus coronatus, may perform an important role in the transmission of an emergent ocular pathology among fishes in Lake Apoyo, Nicaragua.

Dissecting the subcellular membrane proteome reveals enrichment of H+ (co-)transporters and vesicle trafficking proteins in acidic zones of Chara internodal cells.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
The Characeae are multicellular green algae with very close relationship to land plants. Their internodal cells have been the subject of numerous (electro-)physiological studies.

PHYSICAL QUALITY CHARACTERISTICS OF INDIGENOUS DUCK EGGS OF KERALA [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, 1998
Kerala is one of the few states in the Indian Union, where duck eggs fetch more price than chicken eggs. Indigenous ducks constitute 95 per cent of the total duck population in Kerala.

Assembly and characteristic analysis of Chara globularis chloroplast whole genome

open access: yes四川大学学报. 自然科学版, 2021
In order to reveal the characteristics of the entire chloroplast genome of Chara globularis and explore its phylogenetic relationship in Characeae, highthroughput sequencing technology was used to assemble and sequence the entire chloroplast genome. The

Orbits and Dynamical Masses for Six Binary Systems in the Hyades Cluster

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We report long-baseline interferometric observations with the CHARA Array that resolve six previously known double-lined spectroscopic binary systems in the Hyades cluster, with orbital periods ranging from 3 to 358 days: HD 27483, HD 283882, HD 26874 ...

Harnessing Chara globularis: Sustainable biomass harvest for water quality management and organic fertilizer production in Lake Titicaca

open access: yesManglar
Chara globularis, a submerged macroalga dominant in high-Andean lakes, generates controversial effects on freshwater ecosystems. Although its dense coverage alters water chemistry and reduces biodiversity, its abundant biomass offers an opportunity for ...
