Summary We discovered a previously uncharacterized moss‐specific protein, Rosetta NATD‐MAPK 1 (RAK1) in Physcomitrium patens, which uniquely integrates MAP kinase (MAPK)‐dependent signaling with N‐acetyltransferase activity. Through phenotypical and biochemical analyses, we characterized RAK1 function in the regulation of the 2D‐to‐3D growth transition.

Reconstruction of the charophyte community of Lake Shinji by oospore collection
Submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) aids in maintaining a clear stable state in shallow lakes. However, charophytes are more effective in increasing transparency compared to angiosperms.

Asymmetries on red giant branch surfaces from CHARA/MIRC optical interferometry
Context. Red giant branch (RGB) stars are very bright objects in galaxies and are often used as standard candles. Interferometry is the ideal tool to characterize the dynamics and morphology of their atmospheres. Aims.

Imaging the Algol Triple System in H Band with the CHARA Interferometer [PDF]
Algol (Beta Per) is an extensively studied hierarchical triple system whose inner pair is a prototype semi-detached binary with mass transfer occurring from the sub-giant secondary to the main-sequence primary.

We conducted a coordinate‐based connectome mapping meta‐analysis of adiposity‐related gray matter alterations. Convergent large‐scale networks were reconstructed from peak coordinates and further characterized through stability testing, functional system annotation, and imaging transcriptomics, revealing distinct cross‐sectional and weight‐loss–related

Distribution and Density of Vegetative Hydrilla Propagules in the Sediments of Two New Zealand Lakes [PDF]
The distribution and density of hydrilla (Hydrilla verticillata (L.f.)Royle) turions and tubers in two New Zealand lakes were assessed by sampling cores of sediment from Lakes Tutira and Waikapiro each year from 1994 to 1997.
