Development of Learning Design for Mathematics Manipulatives Learning based on E-learning and Character Building

open access: yesInternational Electronic Journal of Mathematics Education, 2018
Many types of e-learning are currently available for use in the education sector. E-learning can provide training and education to a large number of students with diverse cultural backgrounds and educational levels. However, e-learning can fail if forced

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Affective Aspect of Junior High School Students Viewed from Self Efficacy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Science and Applied Science: Conference Series, 2017
The relevance of this research is the growth of character values for students in Indonesia. Mathematics is a subject that builds character value for students. This can be seen from how students view mathematics from their perspective.

A ground-truthed mathematical character and symbol image database [PDF]

open access: yesEighth International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition (ICDAR'05), 2005
This paper describes the specifications for our ground-truthed mathematical character and symbol image database, called InftyCDB-1. The ground-truth of each character is composed of type, font, quality (touched/broken) and link (relative position), etc. The database includes all the characters and symbols of 467 pages of 30 articles on mathematics, and

Cell geometry and membrane protein crowding constrain Escherichia coli growth rate, overflow metabolism, respiration, and maintenance energy

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This
