Optimal Selection of the Control Strategy for Dual-Axis Solar Tracking Systems
This article proposes a methodology for the optimal selection of the control strategy for two-axis solar tracking systems, that simultaneously reduces tracking error and energy consumption in existing solar tracking systems, improving their overall ...

This paper is a continuation of the previous paper of the same authors [J. Approximation Theory 117, No. 2, 279--300 (2002; Zbl 0557.46020)]. Let \((\Omega,{\mathcal A},\mu)\) be a measurable space. The Musielak-Orlicz norm \(\| .\| _\varphi\) and the Musielak-Orlicz space \({L_{\varphi}=L_{\varphi}(\Omega,{\mathcal A},\mu)}\) are defined as usual [see

Decision Making in Evolutionary Multiobjective Clustering: A Machine Learning Challenge
Evolutionary multiobjective algorithms have become a popular choice to tackle the clustering problem. On the one hand, the simultaneous optimization of complementary clustering criteria offers an increased robustness to changes in data characteristics ...

A Characterization of Best Simultaneous Approximations
Let \(X\) be a compact Hausdorff space and \(Y\) a normed linear space and let \(C(x,y)\) denote the set of all continuous functions from \(X\) to \(Y\), equipped with a norm. The author takes up the problem of approximating a finite number of functions in \(C(x,y)\) simultaneously by a function in a subspace of \(C(x,y)\).

The characterization of best nonlinear Tchebycheff approximations [PDF]
1.1. Let two real functions f and F be given such that f=f(x) is a continuous function for x [0, 1] and F== F(al, a2, * * *, a n, x) is a continuous function of n parameters and x [0, 1]. For simplicity of notation the point (a', a2, * * , an) in Euclidean n-space, En, is denoted by a.

ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative
