Characterization of breast cancer subgroups in an African population

open access: yesJournal of British Surgery, 1989
Abstract A detailed prospective study of 58 consecutive breast cancer patients and contemporaneous controls, using age, duration of tumour and presence or absence of poor prognostic signs as clinical parameters, clearly showed that the patients fell into three distinct groups. Group A accounted for 30 per cent of cancers and consisted of

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Characterization of subgroups in fibromyalgia syndrome

open access: yes, 2023
The present cumulative dissertation summarizes three clinical studies, which examine subgroups of patients within the fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS). FMS entails chronic pain and associated symptoms, and its pathophysiology is incompletely understood (1).

$G$-permutable Subgroups in $\operatorname{PSL}_2(q)$ and Hereditarily $G$-permutable Subgroups in $\operatorname{PSU}_3(q)$

open access: yesИзвестия Иркутского государственного университета: Серия "Математика"
The concept of $X$-permutable subgroup, introduced by A. N. Skiba, generalizes the classical concept of a permutable subgroup. Many classes of finite groups have been characterized in terms of $X$-permutable subgroups.

Aquaporin‐3 and aquaporin‐5 impact the development of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma spheroids

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of the role of aquaporin‐3 (AQP3) and aquaporin‐5 (AQP5) in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Both proteins are upregulated in PDAC and are associated with tumor progression and metastatic potential. Silencing AQP3 or AQP5 in PDAC spheroids results in decreased diameter, area, and overall growth, underscoring their key ...

Subgroup classification in patients with psychogenic non-epileptic seizures

open access: yes, 2012
Introduction In this open non-controlled clinical cohort study, the applicability of a theoretical model for the diagnosis of psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES) was studied in order to define a general psychological profile and to specify possible

Electroencephalographic characterization of subgroups of children with learning disorders

open access: yesPLOS ONE, 2017

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Another characterization of parabolic subgroups

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1991
Let G be a reductive algebraic group defined over an algebraically closed field k. Let RAT(G) be the category of rational G-modules. An object \(V\in RAT(G)\) is called topheavy if either \(V=0\) or the socle of V is irreducible. Let \(G'\) be another group.
