Resistor-less charge sensitive amplifier for semiconductor detectors

open access: yesNuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2016
Abstract A new concept of a Charge Sensitive Amplifier without a high-value resistor in the feedback loop is presented. Basic spectroscopic parameters of the amplifier coupled to a coaxial High Purity Germanium detector (HPGe) are discussed. The amplifier signal input is realized with an n-channel J-FET transistor.

Investigation of the effect of noise on the operation of the charge sensitive amplifier with compensated pyroelectric interference

open access: yesTekhnologiya i Konstruirovanie v Elektronnoi Apparature, 2015
The authors consider the problems that arise during the operation of the charge sensitive amplifier (CSA) in critical conditions. Simplified schemes and mathematical models of the CSA are presented in order to study the effect of noise of operational ...

Dynamic Compression of the Signal in a Charge Sensitive Amplifier: From Concept to Design [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2015
This work is concerned with the design of a low-noise Charge Sensitive Amplifier featuring a dynamic signal compression based on the non-linear features of an inversion-mode MOS capacitor. These features make the device suitable for applications where a non-linear characteristic of the front-end is required, such as in imaging instrumentation for free ...

Efficient binary phase quantizer based on phase sensitive four wave mixing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We experimentally demonstrate an efficient binary phase quantizer operating at low pump powers. Phase-sensitive operation is obtained by polarization mixing the phase-locked signal/idler pair in a degenerate dual-pump vector parametric ...

A charge sensitive amplifier for use with piezoelectric transducers [PDF]

open access: yes
The design of a preamplifier for use with a piezoelectric transducer is generally approached from the point of view that an extremely high input impedance is required to obtain low frequency response.

Modelling of GaAs Charge Sensitive Amplifiers

open access: yesElektronika ir Elektrotechnika, 2005
GaAs integrated circuit the charge sensitive amplifier (CSA) is generally used for pixel detectors in mammography and dentography. Computer simulation was carried out by ORCAD-PSPICE simulator. The amplifier has bipolar response with peaking time about 8,5 ns and 39.4 mV/fC gain, equivalent noise charge of input ENC=184 ē rms and low power consumption ...
