The analysis of the scavenging process in two-stroke engines is important in terms of achieved performance and emission of toxic substances. The amount of mass of air used for the scavenging process and the amount mass of gas retained in the cylinder ...

Pion double-charge-exchange operator
We investigate the behavior of the operator responsible for sequential pion double charge exchange in nuclei in the plane wave limit with a view to studying its extension in space, especially the short-range part.

Adenosine triphosphate as a modulator of protein interactions and stability
ATP is best known as the cell's energy currency, but it also shapes how proteins fold, interact, aggregate and form biomolecular condensates. This review explains the emerging physical principles behind these effects, including weak binding to charged protein regions, magnesium‐dependent behaviour and concentration‐dependent control of protein ...

Electric Charge State Changing Collisions of Hydrogen and Helium with Low-Z Impurity Particles Part I. Charge Exchange Processes [PDF]
This report contains a collection of practical approximating formulas for one-electron loss and one-electron capture cross-sections of ion-atom and ion-ion collisions of H0, H+, He0, He+ and He2+ particles with Li, Be, B, C and Ne neutral atoms and all ...

We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

He-like Spectra Through Charge Exchange Processes in Tokamak Plasmas
"Population mechanisms and cascade effects due to charge exchange processes between hydrogen- Iike ions and neutral hydrogen are investigated for helium-like ions in tokamaks by using a collisional radiative model.

In this study, a novel esterase from the thermoacidophilic archaeon Thermoplasma acidophilum was biochemically and structurally characterized. Our results demonstrate that Ta0887 is a highly thermostable esterase that preferentially hydrolyzes p‐nitrophenyl hexanoate and possesses an α‐helical cap domain that likely contributes to its substrate ...

A minimal cellulosome‐like system in Cellulosilyticum lentocellum
Cellulose‐degrading bacteria typically use cellulosomes, large multi‐enzyme complexes on a scaffold protein. In Cellulosilyticum lentocellum, we characterise a far smaller arrangement, a single scaffold bound to one cellulase through a single cohesin‐dockerin interaction.
