Metal Oxide Nano‐Interface Boosting the Deep Ultraviolet Adjustable Noise‐Filtering In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We show that sol‐gel‐fractured indium–magnesium oxide combines deep‐ultraviolet responsivity, high carrier mobility, and an excellent memory dynamic range. This unique materials platform enables deep‐ultraviolet long‐afterglow light‐emitting devices with multifunctional integration.

Quantifying recombination and charge carrier extraction in halide perovskites via hyperspectral time-resolved photoluminescence imaging

open access: yesAPL Energy
Identifying sources of nonradiative recombination and quantifying charge carrier extraction in halide perovskite solar cells are important in further developing this thin-film technology.

Engineering the Assembly Freedom of Donor–Acceptor Type Self‐Assembled Monolayers Toward Efficient and Stable Flexible Perovskite Photovoltaics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Assembly freedom engineering breaks the vertical alignment constraint of donor–acceptor self‐assembled monolayers, tuning their assembly freedom to achieve quasi‐random molecular orientation. This strategy simultaneously boosts interfacial charge transport and mechanical robustness, enabling high‐efficiency and mechanically stable flexible perovskite ...

Radiative recombination data for modeling dynamic finite-density plasmas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We have calculated partial final-state resolved radiative recombination (RR) rate coefficients from the initial ground and metastable levels of all elements up to and including Zn, plus Kr, Mo, and Xe, for all isoelectronic sequences up to Na-like ...

Charge transport mechanisms in corona charged polymeric materials

open access: yes, 2013
Polymeric materials have been widely used as an insulator due to their excellent electrical properties, light weight and low cost. Surface potential measurement is one of the simplest and low cost tools to gauge electrical properties of materials.

Specific Position of Halogen in Crystalline TADF Scintillators Enables Efficient Triplet Harvesting Through Vibrational Modulation of Spin–Orbit Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Specific ortho‐halogenation transforms crystalline TADF emitters into efficient organic scintillators. Fluorine reduces the effective singlet–triplet separation, while chlorine combines near‐degenerate excited states with vibrational modulation of spin–orbit coupling.

Active Phase of Nickel Electrocatalysts Driving Alkaline Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Using depth‐resolved and operando spectroscopic measurements coupled with electrochemical mass spectrometry, the authors uncover the critical role of sub‐surface oxidised species in increasing the activity and durability of Ni‐based cathodes for hydrogen evolution.

Inhibited recombination of charged magnetoexcitons

open access: yesInhibited recombination of charged magnetoexcitons
Time-resolved photoluminescence measurements show that the decay time for charged excitons in a GaAs two-dimensional electron gas increases by an order of magnitude at high magnetic fields. Unlike neutral excitons, the charged exciton center-of-mass is spatially confined in a “magnetically adjustable quantum dot” by the cyclotron orbit and the quantum ...

Efficient Hydroxyl Diffusion Triggers Surface Hydronium Enrichment and Bulk Proton Participation to Boost Alkaline Hydrogen‐Evolving Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
For the first time, we shed light on the surface‐to‐bulk diffusion, induction, and reaction behaviors of OH−, H+, and H2O species on model oxides for alkaline hydrogen‐evolving reaction (HER). We first demonstrate that bulk OH− diffusion significantly affects the generation of proton sources and the diffusion/reaction behaviors of protons, thus ...
