Dynamics of Charge Injection and Charge Recombination in DNA Mini-Hairpins

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2017
Steady state spectroscopy, femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy (fsTA), and femtosecond stimulated Raman spectroscopy (FSRS) of DNA mini-hairpins possessing a diphenylacetylenedicarboxamide (DPA) linker and 1-3 adenine-thymine (A-T) or guanine-cytosine (G-C) base pairs have been investigated.

Charge Recombination in DNA Hairpins Controlled by Counterions

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2008
The slow charge recombination in DNA hairpins of various lengths is investigated. The distance dependence for the charge recombination rate between stilbene donor (Sd(+)) and stilbene acceptor (Sa(-)) linkers separated by AT bridges of various lengths has the double exponential form.

Kinetics and Pathways of Charge Recombination in Photosystem II

Biochemistry, 2002
The mechanism of charge recombination of the S(2)Q(A)(-) state in photosystem II was investigated by modifying the free energy gap between the quinone acceptor Q(A) and the primary pheophytin acceptor Ph. This was done either by changing the midpoint potential of Ph (using mutants of the cyanobacterium Synechocystis with a modified hydrogen bond to ...

Charge Recombination in CuPc/PTCDA Thin Films

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2005
The recombination kinetics of photogenerated charge carriers in perylene-3, 4, 9, 10-tetracarboxylic dianhydride (PTCDA) and copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) thin films grown by organic molecular beam deposition have been studied using transient absorption spectroscopy.

Charge Recombination versus Charge Separation in Donor−Bridge−Acceptor Systems

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2006
Optimizing the ratio of the rates for charge separation (CS) over charge recombination (CR) is crucial to create long-lived charge-separated states. Mastering the factors that govern the electron transfer (ET) rates is essential when trying to achieve molecular-scale electronics, artificial photosynthesis, and also for the further development of solar ...

Kinetics of fast photochemical charge separation and charge recombination reactions

Russian Chemical Reviews, 2011
The review is devoted to studies of the kinetics of fast photochemical processes in liquid solutions. With use of abundant experimental data and results of theoretical simulations, it is shown that a nonequilibrium state of the nuclear subsystem plays a key role in ultrafast charge transfer processes.

Recombination of injected charge carriers

Solid-State Electronics, 1990
Abstract Generation and recombination of charge carriers dominate some performance aspects of semiconductor devices. Investigation of charge carrier recombination is frustrated by the paucity of direct measurement techniques for the recombination process. We formulate and solve the mathematics governing one such technique.

On the effect of charge recombination on the aerosol charge distribution in photocharging systems

Journal of Aerosol Science, 2003
Abstract An experimental study has been carried out to determine the aerosol charge distribution through photocharging process. Particle charge distribution was studied in dependency on particle number concentration and irradiation intensity. While highly positively charged aerosols were obtained for particle number concentrations below 5×10 ...

Charge transport and charge recombination processes in organic semiconductors

Frontiers in Optics, 2003
The operations of devices using organic semiconductors as active elements rely on a number of common processes, among which charge transport and charge recombination / separation play major roles. Here, we provide a theoretical understanding of these processes at the microscopic level, based on the application of electron transfer theory.

Charge exchange recombination spectroscopy on fusion devices

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2012
For fusion, obtaining reliable measurements of basic plasma parameters like ion and electron densities and temperatures is a primary goal. For theory, measurements are needed as a function of time and space to understand plasma transport and confinement with the ultimate goal of achieving economic nuclear fusion power. Electron profile measurements and
