Multiple charge beam dynamics in alternate phase focusing structure

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2014
Asymmetrical alternate phase (A-APF) focusing realized in a sequence of 36 superconducting quarter wave resonators (QWRs) has been shown to accelerate almost 81% of input uranium beam before foil stripper to an energy of 6.2  MeV/u from 1.3  MeV/u.

Thermoreflectance Detection of Point Defects Resulting from Focused Ion Beam Milling

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Focused ion beam (FIB) milling is a common tool for nanoscale material processing, however irradiation damage, redeposition, and contamination can occur. We use several characterization tools to show FIB‐induced effects beyond 1 mm from the milled area.

Incommensurate Charge and Spin Fluctuations in d-wave Superconductors

open access: yes, 1998
We show analytic results for the irreducible charge and spin susceptibilities, $\chi_0 (\omega, {\bf Q})$, where ${\bf Q}$ is the momentum transfer between the nodes in d-wave superconductors.

Electrochemical Evaluation of Compressed Selective Laser Melted AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg Alloys in Chloride Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The corrosion performance of AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg alloys produced through selective laser melting (SLM) was examined under compressive stress in a chloride environment. Electrochemical analyses, including open‐circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization (CPP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were complemented by scanning ...

Neutron diffraction evidence of microscopic charge inhomogeneities in the CuO2 plane of superconducting La2-xSrxCuO4 (0 < x <0.30)

open access: yes, 2000
We present local structural evidence supporting the presence of charge inhomogeneities in the CuO2 planes of underdoped La2-xSrxCuO4. High-resolution atomic pair distribution functions have been obtained from neutron powder diffraction data over the ...

Innovative Processing of Compacted Waste Aluminum Alloy Powders via Controlled Remelting and Solidification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...
