Stochastically Generated Digital Twins of 3D Solid‐State Electrolyte Architecture
A stochastic model and validation suite were developed to produce the highest fidelity computer‐generated (Digital Twin) microstructures of random porous tape‐cast solid‐state battery architectures across µm to mm feature sizes from FIB‐SEM to X‐Ray µCT, respectively.

Effect of Optical Illumination on Bubble Nanodomains
Stable surface‐confined nanoscale bubble domains are created and manipulated in PMN‐PT single crystals. Under above‐bandgap illumination, these bubble nanodomains remain unchanged. However, upon illumination cessation, they rapidly expand to switch the entire crystal surface, due to the accumulation of a large reservoir of electrons at the crystal ...

Charged particles have moved from the physics laboratory to the clinic because of their advantageous dose profile and biologic effects. This brief review will summarize the basic phenomenological laboratory data that led to the successful clinical use of these modalities in selected tumor sites, and the emerging new genomic and proteomic research that ...

However, for all types of charged particles of concern here, ionization of the target atoms is the dominant mode of excitation of the detection medium. This process is also the main source of radiation damage in biological tissue.

Detection of charged particles with charge injection devices
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2007A method for using charge injection devices (CIDs) for detection of high-energy charged particles from inertial-confinement fusion reactions is described. Because of the relatively small depletion region of the CID camera (depletion depth of ∼7μm), aluminum foils are placed in front of the device to reduce the energy of the charged particles and ...

Diffusiophoresis of a Charged Porous Particle in a Charged Cavity
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2018The quasi-steady diffusiophoresis of a charged porous sphere situated at the center of a charged spherical cavity filled with a liquid solution of a symmetric electrolyte is analyzed. The porous particle can represent a solvent-permeable and ion-penetrable polyelectrolyte molecule or floc of nanoparticles in which fixed charges and frictional segments ...

Surface Charge of Macrophages and Their Interaction With Charged Particles
Journal of Leukocyte Biology, 1988Abstract The distribution and concentration of surface ionogenic groups on murine peritoneal macrophages and the responses of their plasmalemma to charged markers were investigated by electron microscopy. Quantitation of the distribution of cationized ferritin (CF) as a marker for anionic groups on fixed cells revealed surface anions on ...

Sedimentation of a Charged Porous Particle in a Charged Cavity
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2013The sedimentation of a charged porous sphere at the center of a charged spherical cavity filled with an electrolyte solution is analyzed. The thickness of the electric double layers around the particle and cavity wall is arbitrary, and their relaxation effect is considered.
