A Dislocation Perspective on Strength and Toughness in Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Dislocations in ceramics enjoy a long but yet under‐appreciated history. The three research waves for dislocations in ceramics highlight the topic evolution over the last 90 years. This review focuses on the impact of dislocation on strength and toughness in ceramics.

Adhesion forces of charged particles

open access: yesChemical Engineering Science, 2006
Abstract Adhesion forces of toner and polymer particles to aluminum substrates were measured by the centrifugal, detachment field and microelectrode detachment field methods, and factors affecting the adhesion forces are discussed. The adhesion forces of toner particles increased with an increase in either particle size or particle charge.

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Collisions and dynamics of particles with magnetic dipole moment and electric charge near magnetized rotating Kerr black holes

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
Analysis of test magnetized and charged particles around black holes immersed in external magnetic fields may help to explain the observed astrophysical phenomena related to black holes, such as the acceleration of particles up to high energies.

Generation of high-energy particles, neutrino and fotons in magnetosphere of collapsing star

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
The generation of particles, photons and neutrinos in magnetosphere of collapsing star are considered. These processes are caused the self-interaction initial accelerating in magnetosphere protons and electrons.

Grain Refinement During Severe Plastic Deformation and Similitude of Subgrain Formation: A Molecular Dynamics Study

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular dynamics is used to investigate structure refinement during severe plastic deformation. The results show similitude with experimental data. Molecular dynamics simulations of severe plastic deformation of monocrystalline and polycrystalline samples by multiaxial compression of aluminum are carried out.

Aerosol Flow with Charged Particles in Dense Array of Spheres [PDF]

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Физико-математические науки, 2015
The problem of aerosol flow with charged particles in a dense array of spheres is solved. Velocity field of the carrier phase flow is found by solving the Navier–Stokes equations using CFD code ANSYS Fluent.
