Efficient Charge Transport in DNA Diblock Oligomers

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2009
The realization of highly efficient photoinduced charge separation across the pi-stacked base pairs in duplex DNA remains elusive. The low efficiencies (

Efficient charging for batteryless solutions in energy harvesting

2019 11th Computer Science and Electronic Engineering (CEEC), 2019
Energy Harvesting Systems seek to remove the batteries from electronic devices and replace them with devices that generate directly from the environment around them. This paper presents an intelligent algorithm to manage the charging and discharging of a supercapacitor for use in sensor nodes which has considerable efficiency advantages.

Efficient Interconnection Charges and Capacity-Based Pricing

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2007
Capacity-based interconnection (CBI) prices vary exactly with the costs a network provider incurs when supplying an interconnecting party. That is, they equal incremental costs, rather than being averaged over any output measure. We argue such prices (1) are as practicable and more efficient than per minute rates based on long run incremental cost, (2)

Enhanced efficiency of electrostatically charged insecticide aerosols

Pest Management Science, 2001
AbstractThe bioefficacy of a standard domestic aerosol insecticide has been compared with that of a similar spray in which the droplets were electrostatically charged. The aerosol was charged without the need for an external power supply, by enhancing natural charge separation processes that occur during atomisation.

Charge transfer efficiency in proton damaged CCD's

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1998
We have performed detailed measurements of the charge transfer efficiency (CTE) in a thinned, backside-illuminated imaging charge-coupled device (CCD). The device had been damaged in three separate sections by proton radiation typical of that which a CCD would receive in space-borne experiments, nuclear imaging, or particle detection.

A high-efficiency CMOS charge pump circuit

ISCAS 2001. The 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01CH37196), 2002
A new high-efficiency CMOS charge pump circuit is proposed in this paper. By using two specially designed auxiliary pump circuits, the impact of the threshold drop and the body effect on the main pump circuit can be suppressed significantly. Simulation results show the pumping efficiency of the new circuit is superior to all the conventional circuits.

Efficient Authentication Mechanism for PEV Charging Infrastructure

2011 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2011
Plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) will not only have a substantial influence on the emerging smart grid system but also create numerous challenges for the utility and customer to deal with their connections and charging. Authentication and authorization processes are critical elements to enable mass deployment of charging stations and to provide ...

An Efficient Game for Coordinating Electric Vehicle Charging

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2017
A novel class of auction-based games is formulated to study coordination problems arising from charging a population of electric vehicles (EVs) over a finite horizon. To compete for energy allocation over the horizon, each individual EV submits a multidimensional bid, with the dimension equal to two times the number of time-steps in the horizon. Use of

An efficient algorithm for charged tracks pattern recognition

Computer Physics Communications, 1990
Abstract We present a new algorithm for charged track pattern recognition in high energy physics experiments. We give Monte Carlo results on performances with variable detector sizes and multiplicities, and in realistic working conditions.

High efficiency wireless charging system with rapid-charging strategy

2016 IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Conference (WPTC), 2016
Wireless charging system with rapid charging algorithm based on a simplified electrochemical battery model is proposed. The operational principle of the proposed scheme is verified with a 200W WPT prototype. Model based charging algorithm development for adaptive charging of battery to not only fast charge the battery but mitigate the associated ...
