Synthetic Lethality Interaction Between Aurora Kinases and CHEK1 Inhibitors in Ovarian Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Cancer Therapeutics, 2017
Abstract Ovarian cancer is characterized by frequent mutations at TP53. These tumors also harbor germline mutations at homologous recombination repair genes, so they rely on DNA-damage checkpoint proteins, like the checkpoint kinase 1 (CHEK1) to induce G2 arrest.

Upregulation of the ATR‐CHEK1 pathway in oral squamous cell carcinomas [PDF]

open access: yesGenes, Chromosomes and Cancer, 2013
The ATR‐CHEK1 pathway is upregulated and overactivated in Ataxia Telangiectasia (AT) cells, which lack functional ATM protein. Loss of ATM in AT confers radiosensitivity, although ATR‐CHEK1 pathway overactivation compensates, leads to prolonged G2 arrest after treatment with ionizing radiation (IR), and partially reverses the radiosensitivity.

Identification of CDK1, PBK, and CHEK1 as an Oncogenic Signature in Glioblastoma: A Bioinformatics Approach to Repurpose Dapagliflozin as a Therapeutic Agent

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2023
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most aggressive and lethal primary brain tumor whose median survival is less than 15 months. The current treatment regimen comprising surgical resectioning, chemotherapy with Temozolomide (TMZ), and adjuvant ...

Lipid raft‐disrupting miltefosine preferentially induces the death of colorectal cancer stem‐like cells

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, 2021
Background Lipid rafts (LRs), cholesterol‐enriched microdomains on cell membranes, are increasingly viewed as signalling platforms governing critical facets of cancer progression.

Identifying the Key Genes in Mouse Liver Regeneration After Partial Hepatectomy by Bioinformatics Analysis and in vitro/vivo Experiments

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2021
BackgroundThe liver is the only organ that can completely regenerate after various injuries or tissue loss. There are still a large number of gene functions in liver regeneration that have not been explored.

Topotecan synergizes with CHEK1 (CHK1) inhibitor to induce apoptosis in ovarian cancer cells [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2015
Topotecan (TPT) is a therapeutic option for women with platinum-resistant or -refractory ovarian cancer. However, the dose-limiting toxicity of TPT is myelosuppression. This led us to seek a combination treatment to augment TPT anti-cancer activity in a cancer-targeted manner.

Identification of hub genes and their correlation with infiltration of immune cells in MYCN positive neuroblastoma based on WGCNA and LASSO algorithm

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2022
BackgroundThe prognosis of MYCN positive NB is poor, and there is no targeted drug for N-myc at present. This study aims to screen out hub genes closely related to MYCN, analyze the relationship between hub genes and NB microenvironment, and provide ...

The mitotic checkpoint is a targetable vulnerability of carboplatin-resistant triple negative breast cancers

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is the most aggressive breast cancer subtype, lacking effective therapy. Many TNBCs show remarkable response to carboplatin-based chemotherapy, but often develop resistance over time.

Identification of a Novel Survival-Related circRNA–miRNA–mRNA Regulatory Network Related to Immune Infiltration in Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2022
Increasing studies have reported that circular RNAs (circRNAs) play critical roles in tumorigenesis and cancer progression. However, the underlying regulatory mechanisms of circRNA-related competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) in liver hepatocellular ...
