The Development of a Novel Gadolinium Chelating Agent for MRI Contrast Agents Employing Carbamoylmethyl-Phosphine Oxides (CMPOs)

open access: yes, 2012
Ionized gadolinium (Gd) is a potent contrast agent used in medical resonance imaging (MRI). As gadolinium is a nephrotoxin, chelating agents are needed to prevent toxicity to the patient.

Green Fuel Combustion Synthesis of CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 Nanoparticles for Photocatalytic and Antibacterial Applications

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silver‐doped cerium oxide nanoparticles (Ag/CeO2 NPs) were synthesized using Ricinus communis seed extract as a bio‐derived fuel in a solution combustion method. The combustion reaction, carried out at 450°C with AgNO3 and (NH4)2[Ce (NO3)6] as metal precursors, produced CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 NPs.

Plant‐Derived Silver Nanoparticles From Senegalia catechu: Antimicrobial Activity and Sunlight‐Driven Photocatalysis

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) have garnered attention for their environmental and medicinal potential, emphasizing the need for eco‐friendly synthesis. This study produces Ag NPs by reacting silver nitrate with aqueous Senegalia catechu leaf extract, a reductant and stabilizer.
