A Tensioned Human Skin Explant Model Used for Preliminary Assessment of Chemexfoliant-Stimulated Bioeffects. [PDF]

open access: yesJID Innov
A tensioned ex vivo full-thickness human skin explant platform was used to assess the bioeffects arising from application of several commercial chemexfoliation agents. Although such treatments are well-established, and improved understanding of the underlying mechanistic processes continues to emerge, research into the optimum treatments for specific ...

Chemexfoliation for Aging Skin And Acne Scarring

open access: yesArchives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1965
If human beings, with the passage of time, would serenely accept the ravages of nature on their features, there would be no need of searching for methods to counteract this progressive deterioration. Understandably, humanity refuses to look placidly upon the unrelenting erosion of a youthful appearance and its replacement by a decrepit, unsightly, and

Trichloroacetic Acid Chemexfoliation (Chemical Peel) for Extensive Premalignant Actinic Damage of the Face and Scalp

open access: yesMayo Clinic Proceedings, 1988
Trichloroacetic acid chemexfoliation is an effective, versatile, and safe therapeutic option for patients with extensive actinic keratoses of the face and scalp. With an experienced and skilled operator, the associated complications are rare and tend to be mild. Cosmetically, the patient not only benefits from removal of the erythematous, scaly actinic

Depths of Chemexfoliation Induced by Various Concentrations and Application Techniques of Trichloroacetic Acid in a Porcine Model

open access: yesThe Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology, 1989
Abstract. The depth of wounds created by various concentrations and application techniques of trichloroacetic acid (TCA) in a porcine model is evaluated. The depth of tissue necrosis increased with the concentration of TCA. Tape occlusion did not deepen the wound but rather decreased its depth.

The effect of chemexfoliation and anti‐aging regiments on fibroblast expression of IGF‐1: A pilot Study

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, 2011
The normalized IGF-1 levels for subjects 1,2 and 3 at baseline were 0.85, 0.59 and 0.87 respectively. When looking at the antioxidant creams the effect of the weaker antioxidant cream regiment of Effulgere and Effulgere P.M. demonstrated a decrease in IGF-1 levels in subject 1 while that of subjects 2 and 3 were virtually unchanged.
