Carbon Dioxide Chemical Absorption Using Diamines with Different Types of Active Centers
The present research analyzes chemical solvents based on the use of diamines (Ethylenediamine-EDA, 1,2-Dimethylethylenediamine-DMEDA and Tetramethylethylenediamine-TMEDA) for carbon dioxide absorption, taking into account the type of amino centers in the

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

X-ray Absorption Fine Structure in Embedded Atoms
Oscillatory structure is found in the atomic background absorption in x-ray-absorption fine structure (XAFS). This atomic-XAFS or AXAFS arises from scattering within an embedded atom, and is analogous to the Ramsauer-Townsend effect.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Research Progress on Carbon Capture and Utilization Technology in Steel Industry
ObjectivesThe control of greenhouse gas emissions, mainly CO2, under the “carbon peak and carbon neutrality” target has received high attention. In 2023, China’s CO2 emissions ranked first in the world, with 12.6 billion tons.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
