Highly multiplexed digital PCR assay for simultaneous quantification of variant allele frequencies and copy number alterations of KRAS and GNAS in pancreatic cancer precursors

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining melting curve analysis enhances the multiplexing capability of digital PCR. Here, we developed a 14‐plex assay to simultaneously measure single nucleotide mutations and amplifications of KRAS and GNAS, which are common driver genes in pancreatic cancer precursors. This assay accurately quantified variant allele frequencies in clinical samples

Abundances in Damped Ly-alpha Galaxies

open access: yes, 2005
Damped Ly_alpha galaxies provide a sample of young galaxies where chemical abundances can be derived throughout the whole universe with an accuracy comparable to that for the local universe.

Deriving model-based Te-consistent chemical abundances in ionized gaseous nebulae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The derivation of abundances in gaseous nebulae ionised by massive stars using optical collisionally excited emission lines is studied in this work comparing the direct or $T_e$ method with updated grids of photoionisation models covering a wide range of

Multidimensional OMICs reveal ARID1A orchestrated control of DNA damage, splicing, and cell cycle in normal‐like and malignant urothelial cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important

The AMBRE Project: searching for the closest solar siblings

open access: yes, 2018
Finding solar siblings, that is, stars that formed in the same cluster as the Sun, will yield information about the conditions at the Sun's birthplace.

Element Nucleosynthetic Origins from Abundance Spatial Distributions beyond the Milky Way

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
An element’s astrophysical origin should be reflected in the spatial distribution of its abundance, yielding measurably different spatial distributions for elements with different nucleosynthetic sites.

Chemical Abundances in Globular Clusters [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of XII International Symposium on Nuclei in the Cosmos — PoS(NIC XII), 2013
The Milky Way globular clusters are ideal laboratories for testing the predictions of nuclear astrophysics. Driven by Hubble Space Telescope photometry and high-resolution multi-object spectrographs on 8m-class telescopes, the study of chemical abundances in globular clusters is a vibrant area of astronomical research.

Chemical Abundances of Planetary Nebulae in the LMC [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1993
We report new spectroscopic data on a sample constituted of 21 well observed planetary nebulae in the LMC. The observations were performed at the National Laboratory for Astrophysics (Brazópolis — Brasil) using the 1.6m telescope and a CCD detector. Extinction, electron temperature and densities were derived for all the planetaries and a comparison is ...

Chemical abundances in bright giants of the globular cluster M62 (NGC 6266) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
With the exception of Terzan 5, all the Galactic globular clusters that possess significant metallicity spreads, such as ω Cen and M22, are preferentially the more luminous clusters with extended horizontal branches. Here we present radial velocities and

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.
