Treatment with KCL‐286, a first‐in‐class retinoic acid receptor‐β (RARβ) agonist, ameliorates neuronal DNA damage and inflammation in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Repair of neuronal DNA damage in Alzheimer's disease by KCL‐286. (A) Amyloid‐β oligomers and plaques impair neuronal DNA repair pathways, leading to DNA double‐strand breaks and glial activation. (B) KCL‐286 activates RARβ/RXR signalling via retinoic acid response elements (RAREs), associated with increased BRCA1 expression, enhanced DNA repair and ...

Synthesis and characterization of copper zinc iron sulphide (CZFS) thin films

open access: yesHeliyon, 2022
In an aqueous bath, quaternary thin films (TFs) of copper zinc iron sulphide (CZFS) were deposited on glass (soda-lime) substrates. The present study aimed to analyse the effect of deposition periods on the properties of the prepared CZFS TFs using ...

Chemical vapour deposition of nanoparticulate and nanocomposite thin films. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Gold nanoparticle and gold / semiconductor nanocomposite thin films have been deposited using aerosol assisted chemical vapour deposition. Two gold precursors have been investigated which would be unsuitable for use with conventional atmospheric pressure

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

Effects of growth conditions on properties of CBD synthesized ZnO nanorods grown on ultrasonic spray pyrolysis deposited ZnO seed layers

open access: yesHeliyon, 2020
ZnO nanorods were synthesized on a seed layer coated glass substrate using chemical bath deposition (CBD). Prior to growth, a seed layer had been prepared via ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method. The aim was to explore the influence of varying the chemical

The Optical characteristics of chemical bath deposition of CdS thin film [PDF]

open access: yesمجلة التربية والعلم, 2010
: Chemical method has been used to prepare cadmium sulphide films by using cadmium chloride (CdCl), Amonia (NH3) and thiourea (CSNH2). The effect of the temperature of preparing solution over the range of (40-80oC) have been studied, it show that ...

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...
