Experimental evidence for the breakdown of a Hartree-Fock approach in a weakly interacting Bose gas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We study the formation of a quasi-condensate in a nearly one dimensional, weakly interacting trapped atomic Bose gas. We show that a Hartree Fock (mean-field) approach fails to explain the presence of the quasi-condensate in the center of the cloud: the ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Comparison of chemical clustering methods using graph- and fingerprint-based similarity measures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This paper compares several published methods for clustering chemical structures, using both graph- and fingerprint-based similarity measures. The clusterings from each method were compared to determine the degree of cluster overlap. Each method was also

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Sum-edge characteristic polynomials of graphs

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2019
Modelling a chemical compound by a (molecular) graph helps us to obtain some required information about the chemical and physical properties of the corresponding molecular structure.

Computing Topological Indices and Polynomials of the Rhenium Trioxide

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2022
In the study of mathematical chemistry and chemical graph theory, a topological index, also known as a connectivity index, is the arithmetical framework of a graph that specifies its topology and also graph invariant.

Crystal Graph Convolutional Neural Networks for an Accurate and Interpretable Prediction of Material Properties

open access: yes, 2018
The use of machine learning methods for accelerating the design of crystalline materials usually requires manually constructed feature vectors or complex transformation of atom coordinates to input the crystal structure, which either constrains the model

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein
