Operation of fixed-bed chemical looping combustion
Chemical Looping Combustion is an alternative technology for CO2 capture. While most systems utilize dual circulating fluidized-beds, this work shows that fixed-bed Chemical Looping Combustion is a feasible configuration for this technology. The inherent

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Chemical-Looping Combustion of solid fuels in a laboratory fluidized-bed reactor
When using solid fuel in a chemical-looping system, the char fraction of the fuel needs to be gasified before syngas react with the oxygen carrier.

Process engineering and development of post-combustion CO2 separation from fuels using limestone in CaO-looping cycle [PDF]
Global CO2 emissions produced by energy-related processes, mainly power plants, have increased rapidly in recent decades; and are widely accepted as the dominant contributor to the greenhouse gas (GHG) effect and consequent climate changes.

Chemical-looping with oxygen uncoupling (CLOU) is an innovative method to oxidize fuels with inherent CO2 sequestration, which utilizes a solid oxygen-carrier material to provide O-2 for fuel combustion. In this study, a range of CuO-based oxygen-carrier

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

NOx AND SOx CHEMISTRY IN PRESSURIZED FLUE GAS SYSTEMS: IMPORTANCE FOR CHEMICAL LOOPING COMBUSTION
The control of NOx and SOx in chemical-looping combustion systems is discussed with the focus on the importance of the pressurized flue-gas train. The chemistry of nitrogen and sulfur under pressurized conditions and the experiences gained from operating

Progress in Chemical-Looping Combustion and Reforming technologies
This work is a comprehensive review of the Chemical-Looping Combustion (CLC) and Chemical-Looping Reforming (CLR) processes reporting the main advances in these technologies up to 2010. These processes are based on the transfer of the oxygen from air to the fuel by means of a solid oxygen-carrier avoiding direct contact between fuel and air for ...
