Modeling the Impact of Moderate External UV Irradiation on Disk Chemistry
The chemistry within a protoplanetary disk is greatly affected by external radiation from the local stellar environment. Previous work has focused on extreme radiation fields, representative of the center of something like the Orion Nebula Cluster ...

Variant and invariant states for chemical reaction systems [PDF]
Models of chemical reaction systems can be quite complex as they typically include information regarding the reactions, the inlet and outlet flows, the transfer of species between phases and the transfer of heat.

Model discrimination of chemical reaction networks by linearization [PDF]
Systems biologists are often faced with competing models for a given experimental system. Performing experiments can be time-consuming and expensive. Therefore, a method for designing experiments that, with high probability, discriminate between competing models is desired.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Information extraction from chemical patents
The automated extraction of semantic chemical data from the existing literature is demonstrated. For reasons of copyright, the work is focused on the patent literature, though the methods are expected to apply equally to other areas of the chemical ...

ORDerly: Datasets and benchmarks for chemical reaction data
Machine learning has the potential to provide tremendous value to the life sciences by providing models that aid in the discovery of new molecules and reduce the time for new products to come to market. Chemical reactions play a significant role in these

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Evaluation of Chemical Equilibrium and Non-Equilibrium Properties for LOX/LH2 Reaction Schemes
Nine chemical reaction models for equilibrium schemes and six chemical models for non-equilibrium ones are studied, considering different conditions found in real liquid oxygen/liquid hydrogen rocket engines.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
