Experimental Investigation on Self-Excited Thermoacoustic Instability in a Rijke Tube
The experimental investigations into the thermoacoustic instability in a Rijke tube are presented. In order to capture the dynamics of the temperature, a single-ended tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) technique was developed, with a ...

Particulate Matter Exposure Impairs Systemic Microvascular Endothelium-Dependent Dilation [PDF]
Acute exposure to airborne pollutants, such as solid particulate matter (PM), increases the risk of cardiovascular dysfunction, but the mechanisms by which PM evokes systemic effects remain to be identified.

This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Application of UV-Vis spectrophotometric and chemiluminescent methods for evaluation of the antioxidant action of curcumin [PDF]
Curcumin (1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1,6-heptadiene-3,5- dione) is a natural biological active substance with an antioxidant activity. The ability of curcumin to inhibit the free radical mechanisms can be used in a prevention of diseases such ...

Wood materials incorporating new properties are of great interest, especially for advanced applications such as sustainable optics and photonics. In this work we describe a wood functionalization approach, comprising the incorporation of artificial chemiluminescent systems (phenyl oxalate ester‑hydrogen peroxide-fluorophore, and luminol-ferricyanide ...

This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.
