The V‐Shaped Hamilton Receptors: A Paradigmatic Multipurpose Scaffold

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 1, January 2026.
This manuscript explores the historical context and significance of molecular recognition in relation to Hamilton‐type receptors. It concludes with a discussion on future prospects for the development of novel functionalized Hamilton‐type receptors. It is hoped that this collection will offer new insights and directions for the supramolecular chemistry

The Sensory Ecology of Tsetse Flies: Neuroscience Perspectives on a Disease Vector

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 63, Issue 2, January 2026.
Tsetse flies (Glossina sp.) are important disease vectors that feed on vertebrate blood. Host‐seeking depends on a combination of sensory systems, from long‐range senses like olfaction and vision, to shorter‐range senses such as audition, mechanosensation, thermosensation and taste.

Acetone sensor based on solvothermally prepared ZnO doped with Co3O4 nanorods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper describes a reliable and sensitive method for sensing dissolved acetone using doped nanomaterials. Large-scale synthesis of ZnO nanorods (NRs) doped with Co(3)O(4) was accomplished by a solvothermal method at low temperature.

Toward Nanostructured Conducting Polymers: Synthesis, Synergies, Applications, and Sustainability

open access: yesInternational Journal of Polymer Science, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Nanostructured conducting polymers (CPs) have emerged as promising materials due to their facile synthesis and remarkable mechanical, optical, and electrochemical properties, alongside superior environmental stability. This review provides an in‐depth analysis of prominent CPs, including polyaniline, polycarbazole, polypyrrole, polythiophene, and poly ...

State‐of‐the‐Art, Insights, and Perspectives for MOFs‐Nanocomposites and MOF‐Derived (Nano)Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 52, December 29, 2025.
Different approaches to MOF‐NP composite formation, such as ship‐in‐a‐bottle, bottle‐around‐the‐ship and in situ one‐step synthesis, are used. Owing to synergistic effects, the advantageous features of the components of the composites are beneficially combined, and their individual drawbacks are mitigated.

Designing Physical Unclonable Functions From Optically Active Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 49, December 10, 2025.
Assigning unforgeable “fingerprints” to manufactured goods is a key strategy to fight global counterfeiting. Optical physical unclonable functions (PUFs) are chemically generated random patterns of optically active materials serving as unique authenticators.

Effects of cellular iron deficiency on the formation of vascular endothelial growth factor and angiogenesis. Iron deficiency and angiogenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Background Young women diagnosed with breast cancer are known to have a higher mortality rate from the disease than older patients. Specific risk factors leading to this poorer outcome have not been identified.
