A new chemotype of Scoparia dulcis

Abstract A new chemotype was found in Scoparia dulcis from Taiwan, China and Thailand based on the diterpene composition. The new chemotype was characterized by the presence of scopadulciol and scopadiol. The structure of a new diterpene was determined to be 6-benzoyl-labda-8(17),13-diene-15,18-diol by spectroscopic methods.

Exploration of the diketoacid integrase inhibitor chemotype leading to the discovery of the anilide-ketoacids chemotype

Integrase is one of three enzymes expressed by HIV and represents a validated target for therapy. A previous study of the diketoacid-based chemotype suggested that there are two aryl-binding domains on integrase. In this study, modifications to the indole-based diketoacid chemotype are explored.

New chemotypes for cathepsin K inhibitors

Cyano pyrimidine acetylene and cyano pyrimidine t-amine, which belong to a new chemical class, were prepared and tested for inhibitory activities against cathepsin K and the highly homologous cathepsins L and S. The use of novel chemotypes in the development of cathepsin K inhibitors has been demonstrated by derivatives of compounds 1 and 8.

A chemotype of Cyperus rotundus in Hawaii

Abstract A new chemotype of Cyperus rotundus was found in Hawaii based on the sesquiterpene composition of the mature tubers. The K-type has higher concentrations of patchoulenyl acetate and sugeonyl acetate than the three known Asian chemotypes. Biochemical and evolutionary aspects of these findings are discussed.
