Studies on Chemotypes of Cinnamomum Camphora

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
Gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was applied to analyze the essential oil extracted from the leaves of 50 individual plants of Cinnamomum camphora, which were collected from the same mountain in Jiangxi province of China. 32 peaks in total were identified in these samples, which were then categorized into five chemotypes ...

A chemotype of Cyperus rotundus in Hawaii

Phytochemistry, 1989
Abstract A new chemotype of Cyperus rotundus was found in Hawaii based on the sesquiterpene composition of the mature tubers. The K-type has higher concentrations of patchoulenyl acetate and sugeonyl acetate than the three known Asian chemotypes. Biochemical and evolutionary aspects of these findings are discussed.

New withanolides from a cross of a South African chemotype by chemotype II (Israel) in Withania somnifera

Phytochemistry, 1980
Abstract Three new withanolides have been isolated from hybrids obtained by crossing a chemotype of Withania somnifera received from South Africa and chemotype II originating in Israel. The compounds have been characterized as 4β,20α-dihydroxy-1-oxo-5β,6β-epoxy-20 R ,22 R -witha-24-enolide, 20α-hydroxy-1,4-dioxo-5β,6β-epoxy-20 R ,22 R -witha-2,24 ...

Pyrroloquinolone-Based Compounds as a Novel Antimycobacterial Chemotype

ACS Medicinal Chemistry Letters
Tuberculosis, caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), remains the world's most lethal infectious disease, posing an uncontained health challenge. The major hurdles are the long treatments and low patient compliance that leads to the appearance of resistance, as well as the lack of drugs that effectively tackle the latent infections.
