Antioxidant Composition in Cherry and High-Pigment Tomato Cultivars
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2006Fourteen cultivars of cherry tomatoes and four cultivars of high-pigment tomato hybrids were cultivated in southern Italy, and the red-ripe fruits were analyzed for their content in different classes of antioxidants and for their antioxidant activity.

Visual Feedback Guided Robotic Cherry Tomato Harvesting
Transactions of the ASAE, 1996Harvesting cherry tomatoes is more laborious than harvesting larger size tomatoes because of the high fruit density in every cluster. To save labor costs, robotic harvesting of cherry tomatoes has been studied in Japan. An effective vision algorithm, to detect positions of many small fruits, was developed for guidance of robotically harvested cherry ...

Development of fruit cuticle in cherry tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)
Functional Plant Biology, 2008The cuticle of a plant plays an important role in many physiological events of fruit development and ripening. Despite this, little is known about cuticle formation and development. We include a detailed morphological study at the microscopic level of cuticle during fruit growth and ripening using tomato as a fruit model.

Properties of Chalconaringenin and Rutin Isolated from Cherry Tomatoes
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2011Fresh cherry tomatoes cv. 'Susanne' contain more of the two flavonoids chalconaringenin (CN) and rutin than lycopene. Therefore some properties including antioxidant behavior of the flavonoids were studied. The two flavonoids were extracted from peel and isolated by use of different chromatographic methods.

CHERRY TOMATO YIELD ON TWO DIFFERENT SOLID GROWING MEDIA
Acta Horticulturae, 2007Rockwool (RW) is largely used, in soilless culture, for growing tomato, but because of its high cost, high needs (from about 90 to 120 m3 per hectare) and for environmental reasons (growers are responsible for the disposal of waste materials), growers are involved in finding new media that substitute RW without negative effect on quantity and quality ...

Machine vision based automatic sorting of cherry tomatoes
2015 2nd International Conference on Electronics and Communication Systems (ICECS), 2015Tomatoes will be harvested at the earlier stage for longer market life. Therefore while grading tomatoes, maturity as well the quality need to be considered. In this paper automatic and non destructive grading of cherry tomatoes based on maturity and quality has been proposed. This algorithm comprises two phases of grading.
