To Grandmother's House We Go: Informal Childcare and Female Labor Mobility

open access: yesInternational Economic Review, Volume 67, Issue 3, Page 1043-1068, August 2026.
ABSTRACT We document how childcare costs and the location of extended family influence the labor supply and mobility of US women. Women return to their home locations immediately before fertility events, suggesting that informal childcare needs may motivate home migration. Women who live near their parents have lower child earnings penalties.

Effectiveness and Safety of RHA4 Versus Comparator Product for Midface Volume Deficiency: A Randomized, Prospective, Multicenter Clinical Study

open access: yesJournal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Volume 25, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers are widely used to correct age‐related midface volume deficits and improve self‐perceived attractiveness. TEOSYAL RHA 4 (also FDA‐approved as RHA Dynamic Volume) (RHA4) is a high‐strength, moderate‐stretch HA volumizing injectable designed to maintain facial dynamics.

Catalyst Hide‐and‐Seek Beneath Porous Support Surfaces: Pinpointing Active Site Distribution Through Resonance Energy Transfer

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 30, 20 July 2026.
Like a shark playing hide‐and‐seek in a coral reef, energy transfer (ET) finds hidden “fish” catalysts in the porous support “reef.” ET allows catalytic species to be precisely mapped, revealing whether they reside near the surface, deep in the pores, or are uniformly distributed. This approach ensures controlled catalyst distribution, highlighting how

The Ames impact structure, Oklahoma: New radioisotopic constraints and implications for North American impact chronology

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 61, Issue 8, Page 2103-2139, August 2026.
Abstract The Ames impact structure (Oklahoma) is thought to have formed during the Ordovician Meteor Event, based on conodont biostratigraphy of its crater fill. Here, U–Pb zircon dates from its impact‐melt portion, conducted using secondary ion mass spectrometry and laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (n = 37 spots), yield a ...

Beneath the Bark: Molecular Determinants of Adaptation and Infection in Bacterial Pathogens of Woody Hosts

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 8, August 2026.
Bacterial pathogens colonise woody hosts by integrating metabolic adaptation, effector‐mediated immune suppression, cell wall remodelling and EPS‐ and toxin‐supported persistence. ABSTRACT Bacterial pathogens of woody plants represent a pervasive yet underexplored threat to global agriculture and forestry, causing devastating diseases in fruit trees ...

The immunity paradox: how do plants survive without adaptive immunity?

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 127, Issue 3, August 2026.
SUMMARY Higher plants and mammals exist in similar microbial environments and face similar challenges from microbial pathogens. Both taxonomic groups encode proteins capable of recognizing and triggering responses to pathogens; however, their recognitional capacities differ substantially.

Macroscopic comparison of open Metzenbaum and ultrasound‐guided fasciotomy techniques for surgical treatment of the hindlimb proximal suspensory ligament desmopathy in horses: A cadaveric anatomical study

open access: yesVeterinary Surgery, Volume 55, Issue 6, Page 1104-1112, August 2026.
Abstract Objective To macroscopically characterize and compare the open Metzenbaum (FOM) and ultrasound‐guided (FUG) plantar fasciotomy techniques for decompression of the hindlimb proximal suspensory ligament (PSL), and to determine whether either approach induces intraligamentous splitting (ILS). Study design Cadaveric experimental study.
