Network structure and taxonomic composition of tritrophic communities of Fagaceae, cynipid gallwasps and parasitoids in Sichuan, China

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, Volume 17, Issue 6, Page 1046-1071, November 2024.
We quantified previously unstudied tritrophic gall communities on Fagaceae in Sichuan, China, testing for ‘bottom‐up’ effects of host plant diversity on plant–herbivore and plant–parasitoid interactions. We sampled 176 cynipid gall morphotypes from 23 host plant species, yielding 64 parasitoid morphospecies.

Isolation, identification and characterization of biotechnologically important bacteria from microflora of Dryocosmus kuriphilus Yasumatsu (Hymenoptera: Cynipidae)

open access: yesBiotechnology & Biotechnological Equipment, 2017
The chestnut gall wasp, Dryocosmus kuriphilus Yasumatsu (Hymenoptera: Cynipidae) is one of the most important insect pests of chestnut. The aim of this study was to isolate and characterize bacteria from D.

Soil and climate‐dependent ingrowth inference: broadleaves on their slow way to conquer Swiss forests

open access: yesEcography, Volume 2024, Issue 7, July 2024.
Forests provide essential ecosystem services that range from the production of timber to the mitigation of natural hazards. Rapid environmental changes, such as climate warming or the intensification of disturbance regimes, threaten forests and endanger forest ecosystem services.

Population Dynamics of the Chestnut Gall-Wasp, Dryocosmus kuriphilus YASUMATSU (Hymenoptera; Cynipidae)

open access: yesJapanese journal of applied entomology and zoology, 1964

Impact of the Asian Chestnut Gall Wasp, Dryocosmus kuriphilus (Hymenoptera, Cynipidae), on the Chestnut Component of Honey in the Southern Swiss Alps [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Economic Entomology, 2017
The Asian chestnut gall wasp (ACGW; Dryocosmus kuriphilus Yasumatsu, Hymenoptera, Cynipidae) is considered as one of the most dangerous pests of the genus Castanea. In southern Switzerland, repeated heavy ACGW attacks prevented chestnut trees from vegetating normally for years before the arrival and spread of the biological control agent Torymus ...

Population Dynamics of Native Parasitoids Associated with the Asian Chestnut Gall Wasp (Dryocosmus kuriphilus) in Italy

open access: yesPsyche: A Journal of Entomology, 2018
Native parasitoids may play an important role in biological control. They may either support or hinder the effectiveness of introduced nonnative parasitoids released for pest control purposes.

A new auxin-like active substance from chestnut crown gall [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977

Redefining Ormyridae (Hymenoptera, Chalcidoidea) with establishment of subfamilies and description of new genera

open access: yesSystematic Entomology, Volume 49, Issue 3, Page 447-494, July 2024.
We redefine the circumscription of Ormyridae based on a phylogenomic dataset and morphological reassessment. Based on the phylogenetic results and comparative morphological assessment, subfamilies are established for the first time. The results support the description of two new genera Halleriaphagus van Noort and Burks, gen.
