Nucleoside phosphotransferase of chick embryo

Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 1979
This paper describes a purification procedure and some properties of a nonspecific nucleoside phosphotransferase of chick embryo, an activity which catalyzes the transfer of chick embryo, an activity which catalyzes the transfer of the phosphate ester from a deoxyribonucleotide or a pyrimidine ribonucleotide to a deoxyribonucleoside acceptor.

Gonadal Growth in Chick Embryos

Nature New Biology, 1971
During ovarian differentiation of bird embryos, ovaries grow faster than testes. The difference for mammals may reflect the sex chromosome constitution.

Cleavage in the chick embryo

Development, 1978
ABSTRACT Chick embryos ranging from the stage of first cleavage to that of about 700 cells were removed from the oviduct and examined by transmission electron microscopy. Beneath the cell membrane is a yolk-free cortical region containing microfilaments.

CHICK EMBRYO ANTIGEN

Archives of Dermatology and Syphilology, 1942
The intravenous injection of human Frei antigen as a diagnostic test for lymphogranuloma venereum was introduced by Hellerstom in 1931.1Its value was confirmed by Gay Prieto and Egea Bueno2and by Flandin and Turiaf.3Ravaut, Levaditi and Maisler4reported similar results from the use of mouse brain antigen intravenously, and Decker, Canizares and Reider ...

Neuraminidase in tissues of the chick embryo and chick

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1963
Abstract 1. 1. The neuraminidase (N-acetylneuraminate glycohydrolase, EC 3.2.1.18) activity of subcellular fractions obtained from chorioallantoic membrane of chick embryos was determined. More than 90% of the activity was found in a supernatant fraction. 2. 2.

Amniotic Inoculation of Chick Embryos

Nature, 1946
THE respiratory tract of the developing chick embryo is susceptible to infection with various bacteria and the viruses of influenza, psittacosis, herpes and certain other infections of man and animals. This infection of the respiratory system is secured most readily by an inoculation of the virus directly into the amniotic cavity.
