Cholinomimetic teratogens: Studies with chicken embryos
Teratology, 1975AbstractThe cholinomimetic compounds carbachol, decamethonium, neostigmine, succinylcholine, trimethylphenylammonium, and others were tested for their interference with normal chick development. All these compounds led to abnormalities of the cervical vertebrae; at higher dosage interference with normal morphogenesis involved the whole vertebral column.

Triploid-Diploid Mosaic Chicken Embryo
Science, 1966Cytological analysis of an underdeveloped chicken embryo at 6 days of incubation revealed a triploid-diploid mosaic condition. Of the 30 metaphases observed, 19 were triploid and 11 diploid. The triploid cells were 3A-ZZZ and diploid cells 2A-ZZ, as determined for the six largest pairs of chromosomes.

Cardiotoxicity of Drugs Detected on Chicken Embryos
1980Results of direct observation of the effects of 9 drugs with known cardiotoxic properties upon the embryonic chick heart after intraamniotic administration on days 4 and 3 respectively, revealed the possibility of rough detection of cardiotoxic properties of newly developed drugs using the rapid, simple and inexpensive technique on chicken embryos.
