Stretchable Microelectrode Arrays for Electro‐Mechanical Probing of Brain Spheroids

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A multimodal device featuring kirigami‐patterned stretchable microelectrode arrays enables concurrent mechanical actuation and electrophysiological recording of brain spheroids. The platform supports multiple loading regimes and reveals mechanically induced modulation of spontaneous network activity in 3D neural tissue models.

Characterizing early embryonic development of Brown Tsaiya Ducks (Anas platyrhynchos) in comparison with Taiwan Country Chicken (Gallus gallus domestics).

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Avian embryos are among the most convenient and the primary representatives for the study of classical embryology. It is well-known that the hatching time of duck embryos is approximately one week longer than that of chicken embryos.

Evidence for Itinerant Ferromagnetic Flat Bands Producing Large Transverse Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Itinerant ferromagnetic flat bands are demonstrated in GdCo5 with a high Curie temperature of 940K, a stacked honeycomb–kagome lattice, through angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy and magneto‐thermoelectric measurements. These topological flat bands generate large Berry curvaturte, producing gigantic anomalous Nernst effect with record‐high ...

Ionic Gating of Liquid‐Crystal‐Like Pteridine Assemblies Enables Tunable Light Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Tunable optical properties emerge through developmentally regulated ionic gating, which transforms disordered, ultraviolet (UV)‐absorbing organelles into concentrically ordered, liquid‐crystal‐like light scatterers. By integrating analyses of pteridine composition, potassium‐dependent assembly, hierarchical ultrastructure, and optical behavior, the ...

Embryo Manipulation in Chickens

open access: yesThe Journal of Poultry Science, 2015
Chicken embryo manipulation, especially germline manipulation, recently has progressed greatly by devising important experimental techniques, such as embryo culture and primordial germ cell (PGC) manipulation. Embryogenesis and embryonic development in chickens are affected by gravity at various developmental stages.
