Nanoscale Mapping of the Subcellular Glycosylation Landscape

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using multiplexed super‐resolution imaging with fluorophore‐labeled lectins, this study reports intracellular glycosylation at the nanoscale across organelles and synaptic specializations. Extending glycan analysis beyond the cell surface, Glyco‐STORM reveals distinct glycosylation nanodomains in the ER, Golgi, lysosomes, and synaptic sites.

USP9X as a Candidate Mediator of Prenatal Aspirin‐Induced Ovarian Reserve Reduction in Offspring Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study suggests that prenatal aspirin exposure is associated with reduced ovarian reserve in offspring, associated with HDAC1‐linked epigenetic downregulation of Usp9x as a candidate mechanism. These preclinical findings provide new insights into fetal‐origin ovarian disorders and contribute to the evidence base concerning aspirin's gestational ...

Parent-Child Closeness and Coping Outcomes in Emerging Adulthood [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Parents continue to play a pivotal role in their children’s social and emotional adjustment into emerging adulthood (Mounts et al., 2006). This project examined the effect of parent-emerging adult closeness on emerging adult coping responses, and whether

Exclusive Breastfeeding Drives AMPK‐Dependent Thermogenic Memory in BAT and Promotes Long‐Term Metabolic Benefits in Offspring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Exclusive breastfeeding establishes a thermogenic memory in brown adipose tissue by activating the HIF1AN/AMPK/α‐ketoglutarate axis via milk‐derived extracellular vesicles enriched in miR‐125a‐5p. This programming preserves metabolic health, while αKG supplementation restores BAT function under mixed feeding, offering strategies to mitigate the ...

DEL‐1 is an Endogenous Senolytic Protein that Inhibits Senescence‐Associated Bone Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Senescent bone marrow stromal cells accumulate in the aging bone microenvironment, promoting bone degeneration. DEL‐1, an endogenous secreted protein, acts as a natural senolytic that selectively eliminates these cells. By engaging a β3 integrin/CD73/adenosine/p38 MAPK/BCL‐2 pathway, DEL‐1 counters aging‐related bone loss, revealing promising ...

Harsh parenting and preschool children’s screen time: the mediating role of parent–child relationships and the moderating effect of mindful parenting

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
IntroductionExcessive screen time among preschoolers is a growing public health concern. This study examined associations between harsh parenting and children’s screen time, testing parent–child relationship quality as a mediator and mindful parenting as

RUNX2 Activation in Fibro/Adipogenic Progenitors Promotes Muscle Fibrosis in Muscular Dystrophy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study revealed a novel role of the chemokine‐TGF‐β1‐RUNX2 axis in determining the fate of FAP differentiation and modulating muscle fibrosis in patients and mice with muscular dystrophies. ABSTRACT Clinical evidence indicates concurrent muscle inflammation and fibrosis in muscular dystrophies (MDs); however, the molecular mechanisms underlying ...

Unraveling the Morphological and Functional Maturation Mechanisms Underlying Human Neural Development Using iPSCs‐Derived Neuronal Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs)‐derived neuronal model, Tian and colleagues reveal that voltage‐gated calcium channels Cav1.2 and Cav1.3, and their mediated calcium ion influx, are essential for early morphogenesis of human neuronal development, while ECEL1 underlies human neuronal functional developmental maturation through CALM3 ...

Longitudinal association between parent–child relationship and depression among Chinese adolescents: the role of psychological resilience and school climate

open access: yesChild and Adolescent Psychiatry and Mental Health
Background The relationship between the parent–child relationship and adolescent depression is much discussed, but still not fully understood. Based on ecological systems theory, this study examined the potential mediating role of psychological ...
