Assessment of chilling requirements of apricot floral buds: comparison of three contrasting chilling models under mediterranean conditions

open access: yes, 2007
Correspondance: legave@supagro.inra.fr; UMR DAP Equipe AFEFInternational audienceDifferent models to estimate the chilling requirements of floral buds in deciduous fruit trees are available, although they have rarely been compared one with the other ...

Estimation of chilling accumulation for blackberry (Rubus sp.) using mathematical models. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
As the climate change takes place, the cultivation of temperate climate crops in subtropical areas has become a challenge. The success of fruit crops, such as blackberry, in certain areas depends basically on its chilling requirement and the chilling ...

Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Unraveling the Electronic Structure of Silicon Vacancy Centers in 4H‐SiC

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The electronic structure of the silicon vacancy in 4H‐SiC is probed via transient absorption spectroscopy, uncovering previously inaccessible excited states of the quartet and doublet spin channels, including the V2' transition. In combination with theoretical analysis, a comprehensive picture of the electronic structure is established.

Perspectives on the adaptation of Japanese plum-type cultivars to reduced winter chilling in two regions of Spain

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
Japanese plum, like other temperate fruit tree species, has cultivar-specific temperature requirements during dormancy for proper flowering. Knowing the temperature requirements of this species is of increasing interest due to the great genetic ...

A quick method of estimating chill hours

open access: yesCalifornia Agriculture, 1984
Not available – first paragraph follows: Most deciduous fruit and nut trees require a period of cold temperature below 45°F during the winter to induce dormancy and promote satisfactory fruit and shoot development in the spring. The length of cold period required, or chill requirement, has been established for most commercial fruit and nut varieties ...

Chilling requirement of ten peach cultivars estimated by different models.

open access: yes, 2022
.The adaptation of a temperate climate fruit cultivar to a certain area depends mainly on its chilling requirement and the chilling accumulation in such places. Several attempts have been made to estimate these two conditions, using different models. The

Unlocking Exceptional Strengthening in Aluminum Alloys via Interstitial Cottrell Atmosphere Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cyclic unloading‐aging‐reloading micro‐tensile tests under various aging durations and temperatures, combined with comprehensive microstructural characterization reveal that the yield point phenomenon in Aluminum‐Carbon (Al‐C) thin films originates from Cottrell atmosphere formation.

Zoneamento agroclimático para o pessegueiro e a nectarineira no Estado do Paraná Agroclimatic zoning for peach and nectarine in the State of Parana, Brazil
