Porphyromonas gingivalis GroEL exacerbates orthotopic allograft transplantation vasculopathy via impairment of endothelial cell function

open access: yesMolecular Oral Microbiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Orthotopic allograft transplantation (OAT) is a significant approach to addressing organ failure. However, persistent immune responses to the allograft affect chronic rejection, which induces OAT vasculopathy (OATV) and organ failure. Porphyromonas gingivalis can infiltrate remote organs via the bloodstream, thereby intensifying the severity ...

A Spatial Clustering Approach of Economic Activities: An Application to the Agribusiness Sector in Brazil's Midwest Region

open access: yesGeographical Analysis, Volume 58, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The spatial distribution of economic activities is central to regional economics. However, empirical tools for comparing industries based on the similarity of their spatial distributions remain limited. Traditional cluster analysis typically ignores geographical distance and connectivity, while spatial methods focus on clustering places rather

In‐vitro puncture experiment using alligator teeth tracks the formation of dental microwear and its association with hardness of the diet

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 309, Issue 9, Page 2424-2441, September 2026.
Abstract With the development of dental microwear texture analysis (DMTA), there has been an increasing application of DMTA for dietary estimation in extant and fossil reptiles, including dinosaurs. While numerous feeding experiments exist for herbivorous mammals, knowledge remains limited for carnivorous reptiles. This study aimed to qualitatively and

Fish Scales: A Multifunctional Biomaterial from Nature

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 5, September 2026.
Fish scales demonstrate nature's solution to impact protection through overlapping multilayered architecture. This biological design combines mineralized surfaces with collagen networks to achieve both flexibility and fracture resistance. The structural principles inspire advanced protective materials and biomedical implants, where damage tolerance ...

Genome–phenome association prediction using weighted deep matrix factorization with a multisource graph attention network

open access: yesQuantitative Biology, Volume 14, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Genome–phenome association (GPA) prediction can broaden the understanding of biological mechanisms underlying complex phenotypic traits (e.g., diseases and agronomic traits). Traditional deep matrix factorization (DMF)‐based GPA methods can integrate multiple data types and uncover nonlinear associations but often rely on low‐dimensional ...

Antibacterial Effect of the In Vitro Interaction Between Clotrimazole and Chlorhexidine Against Staphylococcus pseudintermedius With Known Resistance Patterns Isolated From Canine Pyoderma

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
The 2:1 chlorhexidine–clotrimazole combination demonstrated enhanced antibacterial activity against canine Staphylococcus pseudintermedius isolates, including resistant strains. Reduced MIC values, predominantly additive interactions and absence of antagonism support its use as a promising topical strategy for canine pyoderma management.

Decoding Spatial Heterogeneity and Multi‐Omics Regulation with Hierarchical Graph Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 43, 3 August 2026.
ABSTRACT Recent advances in spatial multi‐omics technologies have enabled the simultaneous profiling of multiple molecular layers within the same tissue slice, providing unprecedented opportunities to investigate tissue spatial organization. However, most existing computational methods identify spatial domains in a purely data‐driven manner, rarely ...
