RHC genotyping in Chinese Han population
Abstract The Rh blood group is a complex, polymorphic system with 56 antigens. Accurately predicting the presence of the C antigen using genotyping methods has been challenging. This study aimed to evaluate different genotyping methods for C predicting and identifying associated genetic variations in the Chinese Han population.

Ancestry Informative Marker Set for Han Chinese Population [PDF]
Abstract The population of Han Chinese is ∼1.226 billion people. Genetic heterogeneity between northern Han Chinese (N-Han) and southern Han Chinese (S-Han) has been demonstrated by recent genome-wide studies. As an initial step toward health disparities and personalized medicine in Chinese population, this study developed a set of ...

Genetic variation in CFH predicts phenytoin-induced maculopapular exanthema in European-descent patients [PDF]
Objective To characterize, among European and Han Chinese populations, the genetic predictors of maculopapular exanthema (MPE), a cutaneous adverse drug reaction common to antiepileptic drugs.

Molecular cancer prevention: Intercepting disease
Oncological practice must evolve, from treating established tumours to proactive cancer interception before clinical manifestation. This will require mechanistic insight into tumour initiation, validated biomarkers of early disease development and redesigned clinical trials, enabling cancer interception to become a core pillar of oncology with the ...

Polymorphism of CONNEXIN37 gene is a risk factor for ischemic stroke in Han Chinese population
Background Stroke has a high fatality and disability rate, and is one of the main burdens to human health. It is thus very important to identify biomarkers for the development of effective approaches for the prevention and treatment of stroke. Connexin37

Body weights in Han Chinese populations
The body weights of 26,954 Han Chinese adults in 67 areas (16,503 in rural areas and 10,451 in urban areas) across China were measured from 2009 to 2013. The results showed that in China, the three areas (north China, northeast China, and Jianghuai Plain) were with the greatest body weight. Northwest Han Chinese populations were heavier.

Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

A tri‐culture of iPSC‐derived neurons, astrocytes, and microglia treated with ferroptosis inducers as an Induced ferroptosis model was characterized by scRNA‐seq, cell survival, and cytokine release assays. This analysis revealed diverse microglial transcriptomic changes, indicating that the system captures key aspects of the complex cellular ...
