Isosmotic points and their ecological significance for juvenile Chinese sturgeon Acipenser sinensis
Journal of Fish Biology, 2015Serum osmolality and ion concentrations were measured in juvenile Chinese sturgeon Acipenser sinensis at different salinities to determine the isosmotic point. Isosmotic and isoionic concentrations were calculated from the regressions for serum and ambient osmolality, with Na+, Cl− and K+ as salinities 9·19, 8·17, 7·89 and 9·70, respectively.

Fish & Shellfish ImmunologyIFN-γ plays a crucial role in both innate and adaptive immune responses and is a typical Th1 cytokine that promotes Th1 response and activates macrophages. When macrophages were incubated with IFN-γ, their phagocytosis ratio against Mycobacterium marinum increased significantly, as observed under fluorescence microscopy.
