The data density per surface (DPS) is a figure of merit in chipless radiofrequency identification (chipless-RFID) tags. In this paper, it is demonstrated that chipless-RFID tags with high DPS can be implemented by using double-chains of S-shaped split ...

Fully Printable Chipless RFID Tag
1.1 Radio frequency identification Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a wireless data capturing technique which utilizes radio frequency (RF) waves for automatic identification of objects. RFID relies on RF waves for data transmission between the data carrying device, called the RFID tag, and the interrogator (Finkenzeller, 2003; Kraiser ...

Time-Domain-Signature Chipless RFID Tags: Near-Field Chipless-RFID Systems With High Data Capacity [PDF]
Chipless RF identification (RFID) technology has emerged as an alternative to RFID systems that have tags equipped with silicon integrated circuits (ICs), or chips [1]-[12]. The main advantage of chipless RFID systems over their chipped counterparts is the lower cost of the tags, which results from the fact that the ID code is contained in a printed ...

In this paper, a hybrid coding method for chipless radio‐frequency identification (RFID) tag with angular orientation is proposed. Frequency‐shift coding is achieved by controlling the size of three complementary split single ring resonators (CSSRR). And on the basis, we add a dimension of polarisation coding, which is achieved through changes in the ...

Compact slot-based chipless RFID tag [PDF]
We present a fully printable, planar, orientation independent, single layer, chipless RFID tag. The tag consists of a circular patch with multiple discretized circular slot resonators nested in it. This design reduces the total size of the tag since the discrete circular slot resonators resonate at a lower frequency than perfect circular resonators for

Degradable and Printed Microstrip Line for Chipless Temperature and Humidity Sensing
This study presents a biodegradable printed microstrip line with multi‐resonance for temperature and relative humidity monitoring. Zinc printed on paper encapsulated with beeswax serves as the radio‐frequency transducer. Two resonators at 1.2 and 2 GHz are used to sense temperature and humidity, respectively.

Numerical Study of Chipless Tags for Radio-Frequency-Identification (RFID) Applications
We present a numerical investigation of effective chipless tags for radio-frequency-identification (RFID) applications. Chipless tags have been introduced recently as alternatives to standard tags with microchips.

Chipless RFID Polarimetric Radar Barcodes Encoded by Dipole Scattering Domains
Recently, a novel chipless radio-frequency identification (RFID) concept based on polarimetric radar barcodes was introduced. These tags are similar to the well known optical quick response codes (QR codes). In polarimetric radar barcodes the information
