Visualization of Flake Knapping Sequence with Analyzing Assembled Chipped Stone Tools

open access: yesThe Journal of the Society for Art and Science, 2019
For studying stone tools, repeating assembly and separation of stone tools is an inevitable process. The instructions of this process, however, are ambiguous when traditional 2D illustrations are used.

Unleashing the Power of Machine Learning in Nanomedicine Formulation Development

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A random forest machine learning model is able to make predictions on nanoparticle attributes of different nanomedicines (i.e. lipid nanoparticles, liposomes, or PLGA nanoparticles) based on microfluidic formulation parameters. Machine learning models are based on a database of nanoparticle formulations, and models are able to generate unique solutions

The Horton Site (41CP16) on Big Cypress Creek in the East Texas Pineywoods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The Horton site (41CP16) is primarily a Late Paleoindian (ca. 10,000 years B.P.) to ancestral Caddo site (ca. post-A.D. 800), although there is a small mid-19th-early 20th century component as well. This site is on an upland slope (320-350 ft. amsl) that

Microenvironmental Reprogramming by 3D Anisotropic Cardiac Extracellular Matrix Induces Nuclear Remodeling and Epigenetic Maturation of Chemically Induced Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D anisotropic hydrogel derived from heart extracellular matrix guides cytoskeletal alignment and nuclear remodeling in reprogrammed cardiomyocyte‐like cells. This study reveals how matrix alignment modulates nuclear envelope dynamics and chromatin state, triggering transcriptional and functional maturation.
