Parallel Multi‐Target Detection for Quantum LiDAR

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Parallel multi‐target detection is achieved in quantum LiDAR with a single‐pixel quantum readout. Direction and distance information are extracted together, allowing multiple objects to be distinguished under noisy low‐light conditions and pointing to a new strategy for scan‐free quantum remote sensing.

A Novel Simulator of Nonstationary Random MIMO Channels in Rayleigh Fading Scenarios

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2016
For simulations of nonstationary multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) Rayleigh fading channels in time-variant scattering environments, a novel channel simulator is proposed based on the superposition of chirp signals. This new method has the advantages

Direct-Detection OFDM Transmission Using Four-State Chirp Control With a Dual-Electrode MZM for Dispersion Compensation

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2018
We discuss a four-state chirp-control scheme using a dual-electrode Mach–Zehnder modulator to compensate dispersion-induced RF power fading when employing direct-detection-based orthogonal-frequency-division-multiplexed (OFDM) signals.

Robust chirp parameter estimation for Hann windowed signals

open access: yes, 2012
[[abstract]]The sinusoidal model has been a fundamentally important signal representation for coding and analysis of audio. We present an enhancement to sinusoidal modeling in the form of a linear frequency chirp parameter estimator applicable to Hann ...

Filtering in the joint time/chirp-rate domain for separation of quadratic and cubic phase chirp signals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
WOS: 000306697500001This article investigates the possibility and convenience of a filtering operation in the joint time/chirp-rate (TCR) domain, and proposes a novel linear TCR filter for decomposing multicomponent signals into their quadratic and/or ...

Visible Octave Frequency Combs in Silicon Nitride Nanophotonic Waveguides Driven by Ti:Sapphire Lasers

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Chip‐based frequency combs are usually pumped from telecom wavelengths, far from the visible. This work instead pumps close to the visible with a Ti:sapphire laser ‐ the source behind the original optical frequency combs and now becoming chip‐integrable‐ and lets silicon‐nitride waveguides convert it into efficient, octave‐spanning visible‐to‐infrared ...

Noise Suppression via Gain‐Dispersion‐Managed Nonlinear Amplification in a High‐Power Er‐Fiber Laser

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Gain‐dispersion‐managed nonlinear pre‐amplification simultaneously suppresses phase and intensity noise, enabling scalable high‐power fiber amplification. The system delivers 102.3 W linearly polarized pulses with 1.19 µJ energy at 85.69 MHz and compresses them to 380 fs. Near‐linear power scaling without evident saturation highlights a practical route

Simulation Study of a Distributed Fiber Optic Vibration Sensing System Using Dual-Chirped Pulses and Frequency Division Multiplexing

open access: yesPhotonics
This paper proposes a distributed vibration sensing system based on dual-chirped pulses and weak fiber Bragg gratings. Compared with conventional dual-pulse heterodyne detection techniques, the proposed approach utilizes the time-frequency ...

Attosecond‐Stable Two‐Dimensional Spectroscopy by a Sagnac‐Based Modulating System and a Sub‐4‐fs Continuum Source

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A novel optical platform integrates a Sagnac‐based interferometer with a high‐brightness multiple‐plate continuum source to advance two‐dimensional electronic spectroscopy. The robust system delivers octave‐spanning, 3.7‐femtosecond pulses and achieves intrinsic attosecond‐level phase stability without active feedback.
