Bacteria‐Responsive Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems for Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bacteria‐responsive nanocarriers are designed to release antimicrobials only in the presence of infection‐specific cues. This selective activation ensures drug release precisely at the site of infection, avoiding premature or indiscriminate release, and enhancing efficacy.

Aspergillus Cell Wall Chitin Induces Anti- and Proinflammatory Cytokines in Human PBMCs via the Fc-γ Receptor/Syk/PI3K Pathway

open access: yesmBio, 2016
Chitin is an important cell wall component of Aspergillus fumigatus conidia, of which hundreds are inhaled on a daily basis. Previous studies have shown that chitin has both anti- and proinflammatory properties; however the exact mechanisms determining ...

A method for functional testing constitutive and ligand-induced interactions of lysin motif receptor proteins

open access: yesPlant Methods, 2020
Background Plant receptors with lysin motifs (LsyM) recognize microbial signals such as fungal chitin and lipo-chitooligosaccharidic Nod factors of nitrogen-fixing rhizobia. It is generally assumed that ligand-induced dimerization of LysM receptors is an

AtCERK1 Phosphorylation Site S493 Contributes to the Transphosphorylation of Downstream Components for Chitin-Induced Immune Signaling

open access: yesPlant and Cell Physiology, 2019
Abstract While ligand-induced autophosphorylation of receptor-like kinases (RLKs) is known to be critical for triggering the downstream responses, biochemical mechanism by which each phosphorylation site contributes to the initiation of corresponding signaling cascades is only poorly understood, except the involvement of some ...

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Biodegradable Chitosan Films as Green Resists for Gold Nanowires Fabrication Through AFM‐Based Nanolithography

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of a sustainable nanofabrication process: chitosan derived from natural sources is used as a biodegradable thin film resist, patterned via Constant Pulse‐Assisted Force Lithography (CP‐AFL) to create tunable nanogrooves. These grooves template gold nanowire formation, enabling high‐resolution nanopatterning under ambient ...

Large‐Scale and Cost‐Effective Fabrication of Ultra‐Thin, Biodegradable Microelectrode Arrays and Pressure Sensors Using Laser Micromachining

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A mask‐free and cost‐effective UV‐pico‐second laser‐based microfabrication method is proposed to fabricate large‐area biodegradable microelectrode arrays and pressure sensors. These devices demonstrate low impedance, good conformability, excellent biocompatibility, and rapid degradation, providing a new route for next‐generation transient electronics ...

Flexible Chemiresistive Chitosan‐Glycerol Sensors on Laser‐Induced Graphene Electrodes for Room‐Temperature Ammonia Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Flexible Chitosan‐glycerol sensor integrated with porous laser‐induced graphene (LIG) electrodes enable room‐temperature chemiresistive detection of ammonia (NH3) and proof‐of‐concept detection of fish spoilage. ABSTRACT We report a metal‐free sensor platform combining laser induced graphene (LIG) electrodes with drop‐deposited, glycerol‐plasticized ...
