Purification of DP 6 to 8 chitooligosaccharides by nanofiltration from the prepared chitooligosaccharides syrup [PDF]
Abstract Background Chitooligosaccharides (COS) with degrees of polymerization (DP) 6 to 8 are degraded from chitosan, which possess excellent bioactivities. However, technologies that could purify them from hydrolysis mixtures in the narrow DP range (984 to 1,306 Da) are absent.

Production of Chitooligosaccharides and Their Potential Applications in Medicine [PDF]
Chitooligosaccharides (CHOS) are homo- or heterooligomers of N-acetylglucosamine and D-glucosamine. CHOS can be produced using chitin or chitosan as a starting material, using enzymatic conversions, chemical methods or combinations thereof. Production of well-defined CHOS-mixtures, or even pure CHOS, is of great interest since these oligosaccharides ...

Chitooligosaccharides for wound healing biomaterials engineering [PDF]
Chitooligosaccharides (CHOS) are oligomers of β-(1-4) linked N-acetylglucosamine and D-glucosamine that are produced from chitin or chitosan using different enzymatic or chemical methods. CHOS are water-soluble and non-cytotoxic with diverse bioactivities such as antibacterial, anti-inflammation, anti-obesity, anti-tumor and antioxidant.

Cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of chitooligosaccharides upon lymphocytes [PDF]
Two COS mixtures and a low molecular weight chitosan (LMWC) were tested for potential cytotoxicity and genotoxicity upon human lymphocytes. Genotoxicity was evaluated in vitro by cytokinesis-blocked micronucleus and alkaline comet assays, while cytotoxicity was assessed by flow cytometry analysis.

Draft Genome Sequences of Salmonella enterica Serovar Typhimurium LT2 with Deleted Chitinases That Are Emerging Virulence Factors. [PDF]
Chitinases are glycosyl hydrolases that catalyze the hydrolysis of the β-1,4 linkages in complex carbohydrates and those that contain GlcNAc. These enzymes are considered emerging virulence factors during infection because the host glycan changes.
