Tolerance of Grasses to Calcium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride and Sodium Chloride

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 2004
The tolerance of six cool-season grasses and six warm-season grasses to three kinds of salt was examined in solution culture. Among the cool-season grasses, tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea Schreb.) was the most tolerant to all three salts. Among the warm-season grasses, bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.) was the most tolerant to excess calcium

Development of certified reference material of mineral composition of natural water designed to control of turbidity measurement accuracy

open access: yesСтандартные образцы, 2017
Introduction. The results of development of a certified reference material (CRM) of mineral composition of natural water are presented. A solution prepared from the material of the CRM specimen imitates mineral composition of natural surface water.

Inhibitory Effect of Ethanolic Extract of Propolis on Corrosion of Ferritic Stainless Steel in Chloride Media [PDF]

open access: yesChemical and Biochemical Engineering Quarterly, 2019
This work evaluates the inhibitory effect of ethanolic extract of propolis (EEP) on the corrosion of AISI 409 stainless steel (SS) in chloride media. Additions of 100, 200, and 500 μL of EEP in an aqueous sodium chloride solution were performed.

secCl is a cys-loop ion channel necessary for the chloride conductance that mediates hormone-induced fluid secretion in Drosophila [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Organisms use circulating diuretic hormones to control water balance (osmolarity), thereby avoiding dehydration and managing excretion of waste products.

Physiological Basis of Salt Stress Tolerance in a Landrace and a Commercial Variety of Sweet Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.)

open access: yesPlants, 2020
Salt stress is one of the most impactful abiotic stresses that plants must cope with. Plants’ ability to tolerate salt stress relies on multiple mechanisms, which are associated with biomass and yield reductions.
