Teores de cloretos, lactose e índice cloretos/lactose na secreção láctea de bovinos da raça Jersey no primeiro mês da lactação Chloride and lactose contents and chloride/lactose ratio in milk from Jersey cows in the first month of lactation

Chloride ions evoke taste sensations by binding to the extracellular ligand-binding domain of sweet/umami taste receptors

open access: yeseLife, 2023
Salt taste sensation is multifaceted: NaCl at low or high concentrations is preferably or aversively perceived through distinct pathways. Cl− is thought to participate in taste sensation through an unknown mechanism. Here, we describe Cl− ion binding and

Chloride to the rescue [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2019
On the fiftieth anniversary of the discovery of the Ser-His-Asp catalytic triad, perhaps the most unusual variation on the textbook classic is described: An incomplete catalytic triad in a hydrolase is rescued by a chloride ion (Fig. 1). Structural and functional data provide compelling evidence that the active site of a phospholipase from Vibrio ...

Effects of chloride ions on corrosion of ductile iron and carbon steel in soil environments

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Chloride is reported to play a significant role in corrosion reactions, products and kinetics of ferrous metals. To enhance the understanding of the effects of soil environments, especially the saline soils with high levels of chloride, on the corrosion ...

Early metastasis is characterized by Gr1+ cell dysregulation and is inhibited by immunomodulatory nanoparticles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer metastasis is associated with myeloid cell dysregulation and the lung‐specific accumulation of tumor‐supportive Gr1+ cells. Gr1+ cells support metastasis, in part, through a CHI3L1‐mediated mechanism, which can be targeted and inhibited with cargo‐free, polymeric nanoparticles.

Molten chloride salts for next generation CSP plants: Selection of promising chloride salts & study on corrosion of alloys in molten chloride salts

open access: yesSOLARPACES 2018: International Conference on Concentrating Solar Power and Chemical Energy Systems, 2019
Molten chloride salts are promising high-temperature thermal energy storage (TES) and heat transfer fluid (HTF) materials in concentrated solar power (CSP) plants due to their high stability limits (>800°C) but low prices, compared to the commercial ...

Evaluation of dosimetric and spatial accuracy of a virtual cone technique for radiosurgery using linac‐integrated CBCT‐based polymer gel dosimetry

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study evaluates the dosimetric and geometric precision of a virtual cone technique using CBCT‐based polymer gel dosimetry, enabling radiation delivery, and imaging readout within an identical spatial coordinate system. Methods We created a C# script for a virtual cone technique that generates a treatment plan with 10 gantry arcs ...
